Sweet Dairy Whey Powder - 50 Lb Bag. Sweet dairy whey is a co-product of the cheese making process. When rennet is added to milk, it separates into curds (used to make cheese) and liquid whey. This liquid is then dried into a powder and packaged as sweet dairy whey.

In gluten-free baking whey powder adds protein, makes the texture smoother, and replaces some of the sugar. It can also be added to beverages as a protein and calorie booster. It's extensively used in the production of ice cream.

Our sweet dairy whey is supplied by American Dairy Products or Leprino Foods (depending on availability). It has approximately 13% protein and 74% sugars (primarily lactose). The product will be Grade A or Extra Grade, which are virtually identical for culinary purposes.

This product is not appropriate for casein-free or lactose-free diets.
